Requirement for community college ???

I'm a senior in a high school. I got 4.0 unweighted GPA in my junior year, and I'm taking 2 AP classes now (Ap Calculus and AP english), so I hope I can get better grade this time. Also I'm almost forget to tell you that I'm an international student.

I'm trying to get a good score on SAT and TOEFL. But in case I do bad on those test, I wonder what is the requirement for community colleges. Do I have to have a certain score on those test to go to community college ??? Some of my friends say that I don't need any test, only a good GPA and graduation are enough for community college. So, I do not know if that is true.

By the way, can anyone give me advise about which community college are the best or good near LA ?? I'm living in Garden Grove, so I'm looking for community college near my home, but it is OK if the college near LA, I can commute to school.

Please help me 'cause I have no idea about those things.

So, thank you for your time.

The requirements to obtain enrollment in a community college are much less stringent than a university. A private university is typically more difficult to be accepted into than a public university.

With you current grade point average, I suggest you set your goal on attending a university. Because community colleges are easier to get into, the degrees aren't as meaningful in the workplace. (I'm not saying a degree from a community college is a bad thing. A community college is often a good choice for some students and students with specific career paths in mind.)

Select four or more universities that you are interested in attending. The selection process involves more than your GPA and your SAT scores. A well-balanced individual is often preferred so do some volunteer work, participate in a club at school or a club outside of school, and, if possible, get involved in a sport - even if you are no good it shows that you can be a team player.

In order to get the best SAT score possible, get a tutor now to help you prepare.

Since you are in your junior year, you need to begin submitting your college applications now. You should have a school counselor who can help you will this process. You won't have the information (i.e. your final GPA or SAT score) when you submit your application but a university may provide you with a "conditional" acceptance.

If you want to apply for scholarships, grants or students loan, that also needs to be done now.

I suspect you will be admitted to a university. However, if you aren't, last minute applications for community colleges are accepted. If you decide to go to a community college, find out if your credits will transfer to a university because good performance your first year at the community college could help you get into a university.

Good luck. Enjoy school - work hard but party some!

All i know is that you need a GED or High School diploma to get into community college. I may be wrong, you may not even need those things. Pretty much anyone can go to community college. What you want to worry about is where you want to go after community college. Do you want to go get your bachelor's degree from a 4-year school, like Cal State Fullerton? Or do you just want to get an associates degree from a community college? You should go to a counseler at a community college to get all the answers. If you live in Garden Grove, the best community college to go to is Santa Ana College in Santa Ana on Bristol and 17th Street.
Since you are deciding to go to a community college, they will all be similar. Community colleges usually don't require anything but a high school diploma and that's it. Community colleges should always be a back up plan.
