There shouldnt be a problem, but in order to make things easier for yourself, you should go to a community college that has an arrangement with a good university. For example, the University of Michigan (one of the best schools in the country) has an arrangement where it gives preference to the transfer students of Washtenaw Community College. I'm sure there are several schools in New York that behave in the same manner. Good Luck!

as long as you are going to an accredited community college you will have no problem transferring to a 4 year school.
If you finish your two years with your Associates degree. You should have no problem in the transfer.

The problem comes when students don't finish their degree, take just the classes that will transfer for their major and then want to move on.

My sister took her classes that were required for her major, but did not take her general education requirements. Tried to transfer to a 4-yr university and had a really hard time getting accepted.

She went back and took just general education and received her Associates, then every college was offering acceptance and scholarships to boot.

Good luck
