Why does Yahoo refer to its 'Community', but acts more like a Communist dictatorship?

I know of a multitude of users who regularly receive violations notices and even have accounts suspended for the most innocuous of questions/answers. This so-called community is run by trolls.

Yahoo refers to its http://answers.yahoo.com/info/community_... 'Community' and says that we must abide by its 'Guidelines'. 'Community' is as described here... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Community and guidelines are exactly that, GUIDELINES (as opposed to rules). So why does Yahoo continually issue auto-violations to their 'community' members, acting more like the worst Communist dictators, instead of actually treating its users as valued community members, allowing them to grow and develop into a real community?

Because they're all possessed by demons, that's why. I call this place YaHELL. It's not fair, there's no justice but that's Yahoo for you.
Yahoo answers needs rules and guidlenes as to keep yahoo answers running well.

Without rules, dicipline and guidlines yahoo answers would be full of trolls(not that there already are loads of them) and people not bothering to answer questions properly.

I wouldn't be here if not for the guidlines as it would be full of rood people and people puttinspam and junk all over yahoo.
There is one point you overlook. Unlike a Communist dictatorship, Yahoo! members are allowed to leave.
Sad to say, but in this age, its not what you type, but how you offend.... You can respond/ask the most inane sexual- racist- hot potato thing out there and its all good, till someone gets their feelings bruised and goes running to the 'report' button. Yeah, I"ve gotten my letters... I use some YaHoo services, but that doesn't mean I agree with their policies. I avoided Answers for a long time, but its just fun! The problem is that too many people see the web as their own private playground in their backyard. Doesn't want anybody playing 'cept what game they choose.
100% With you on this. Just had another Violation myself. What's the point answering on Yahoo Answers..All I said was "Get A Life". Thanks Yahoo
well if you say so it must be true x
My last account was BANNED because I posted a question about a relationship and somewhere in the text it mentioned a bj. Apparently it got reported, and instead of a real person looking it over and deciding if it was okay or not, they deleted the question, AND suspended my account. I sent an email to the email address given for appeal, asking very very nicely why, and they replied that my account is hereby BANNED completely from Y!Answers.

Astro is dead on about the backyard thing.

Actually, I'm guessing that some asshole somewhere will think it's funny and report you for this question just for the sake of being an asshole.
